In an effort to identify, educate and provide services to homeless veterans in Scott County, HMSI staff have now begun to provide outreach services to the Scott County Jail. The Grant and Per Diem Program as well as the VALOR program will have representatives that will undergo volunteer orientation at Scott County Jail in Davenport. These volunteers will have limited access to veterans who are currently incarcerated. The goal of the program is to identify veterans who would benefit from these programs and help to keep these veterans from being homeless and/or repeat being incarcerated.

The "Cold Weather" policy is in effect at Shelter. This policy is put in place during the coldest months of the year (typically December thru April).

During this time the participants who would not otherwise be eligible to return to shelter, due to time constraints, will be allowed to stay through the cold weather months.
